About Bluegate Farm Holiday Cottages
Bluegate Farm Holiday Cottages is a small complex of self-catering cottages in a secluded village setting near Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire, within reach of the Chilterns. Each cottage has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and sleeps between two and six people, with one double, two singles and a sofa bed. A cot is available, and the dining table seats four. The buildings retain original features such as exposed beams, and the interiors are traditional in character. Children are welcome, as are up to two dogs. The property holds a four-star Visit Britain rating.
The kitchen is fitted with a Rayburn range cooker alongside an electric cooker and hob, with a dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer and washing machine. There is central heating throughout, a television with digital channels and wifi. One of the bathrooms is en suite and there is a power shower; a walk-in shower, a ground-floor bedroom and a ground-floor bathroom make the accommodation suitable for guests with limited mobility, with level access across the ground floor. Outside, each cottage has its own enclosed garden and a patio, with views over surrounding fields, farmland and hills. There is free private off-road parking for two cars adjacent to the property, including a disabled access space, and an outdoor dog washing point. Bed linen and towels are provided, along with a high chair and a welcome pack. At Christmas the cottages are decorated with a tree and trimmings.
The setting suits families, couples and small groups, including birthday gatherings, who want a rural base with attractions close at hand. Dog-friendly walks and a pub are both within a fifteen-minute walk, and the wider area offers walking, cycling, fishing and golf. Places to visit include Woburn Abbey and Gardens, Woburn Safari Park, Whipsnade Zoo and the Whipsnade Tree Cathedral, Mead Open Farm, Ascott House and Gardens, Dunstable Downs and the Chiltern Gateway Centre, the Grand Union Canal, Wrest Park, Stockwood Discovery Centre, The Shuttleworth Collection and Bletchley Park. Leighton Buzzard has the nearest railway station, and Milton Keynes lies about 20 miles away.
