Ty Gwyn Cottage is a single-storey holiday bungalow on a hillside above the Banwy valley, close to the village of Llangadfan in Powys, Mid Wales. The setting is rural and secluded, with views over fields, farmland and the surrounding valley. There are three bedrooms, furnished with one double and three single beds, and the property sleeps between three and five guests. Children are welcome, as are up to two dogs.
The living space includes a large lounge with a dining area, where the table seats six, and a conservatory that makes the most of the outlook. The kitchen is equipped with an electric cooker with a single oven and hob, a microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine, kettle and toaster. There are two bathrooms: a family bathroom and a separate shower room. Central heating runs throughout, and digital TV and wifi are provided, along with bed linen, towels and a welcome pack on arrival. Outside, the enclosed private garden gives space for children and dogs, with a patio and sunloungers for sitting out in fine weather. Ample private parking is available on site, and because all the accommodation is on one level, there are no internal stairs to negotiate.
The cottage suits families, couples and small groups who want a quiet rural base with room to spread out, and walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers will find plenty on the doorstep. Canoeing, fishing, golf and horse riding can all be arranged in the area, and Glyndr's Way and Offa's Dyke Path are within reach. RSPB Lake Vyrnwy, with its sculpture park and visitor centre, is a popular day out, as are Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, Powis Castle and Garden, Montgomery Castle, Glansevern Hall Gardens, the Elan Valley and King Arthur's Labyrinth. The Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway is one of several steam lines in the region. Market towns such as Machynlleth, Dolgellau and Newtown are worth exploring, and the coast at Aberdyfi, Borth, Aberystwyth and Barmouth can be reached by car for a day by the sea. A dog-friendly pub is around fifteen minutes' walk away, with further country pubs a short drive and restaurants and cafes in the nearest towns. Welshpool, with the nearest railway station, lies roughly 17 miles away.
Bed linen is provided for every bed.
