Granary Court is an eighteenth-century conversion at Draycott in the Clay, on the Staffordshire and Derbyshire border and just off the A50, which makes it unusually easy to reach from most of the country. It sleeps sixteen across eight bedrooms with four bathrooms, holds a Gold award, and is let on an exclusive-use basis, with flexibility for smaller groups as well as full house parties.
The accommodation is arranged as a set of apartments, each with two bedrooms, a bathroom with a shower, a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious lounge with a television, which gives a big group both togetherness and privacy. Beyond those there is a conservatory large enough to seat everyone at once, along with a relaxation area with sofas, coffee tables and dining tables, a library room, a snug and a laundry room. Exposed beams and original features run through, and the house is decorated with a tree at Christmas. A separate games room holds a slate-bed pool table, and there is a private hot tub, board and card games, a wine chiller and wifi.
The ground-floor apartments are suitable for elderly or disabled guests travelling with a carer, with level access throughout the ground floor, one ground-floor bedroom and bathroom, wide doorways and disabled parking; the owners prefer to discuss specific requirements in advance. A cot, high chair, welcome pack, towels and bed linen are provided, and the property is allergy friendly.
Outside is a sizeable private enclosed garden with a patio, barbecue, fire pit and giant garden games including Jenga and Connect 4, with ample floodlit off-street parking for up to fifteen cars. Two pubs are within walking distance, one with a butcher's shop attached and the other with a micro-brewery. Uttoxeter has the nearest station and Derby is twelve miles. Alton Towers, Drayton Manor, the Tamworth SnowDome and Waterworld are all within easy reach, and Chatsworth House, Calke Abbey, Kedleston Hall, Carsington Water, Dovedale and the Peak District National Park are all nearby. The owners can arrange activities on site or a whole weekend programme, and they take family gatherings, hen and stag celebrations, birthdays, anniversaries, reunions, weddings, corporate breaks and craft courses.
Additional charges: No additional cleaning fees.
