About Corffe House
Corffe House is a large Grade II listed Georgian country house in an idyllic part of Devon, close to the picturesque village of Tawstock and four miles from the market town of Barnstaple. It sleeps twenty-two in nine bedrooms with eight bathrooms, holds a Gold award and takes two dogs. The glorious Georgian exterior, the beautifully styled interior and the sociable living spaces make it a serious proposition for a large group.
The house's own standout feature is an impressive cinema room with a three-and-a-half-metre screen and a full Sky package, which doubles as a games room with a pool table and a PlayStation VR. Beyond that there are open fires and a wood-burning stove, wifi and Sky television, a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, freezer and coffee maker, and a dining arrangement seating twenty. A cot, high chair, stairgate, welcome pack, towels and bed linen are provided.
Although Corffe House stands very much apart, it is part of the Corffe Cottages group, and guests have access to the excellent shared leisure facilities on site: an indoor heated swimming pool, a hot tub, a tennis court, an adventure playground for children and five acres of grounds. The house itself has a garden, patio, balcony and parking.
A pub is nearby, with the Instow Arms at Instow, the Chichester Arms at Bishops Tawton and the Hunters Inn at Newton Tracey all worth the short drive. Barnstaple, four miles off, has the shops and amenities, and some of Devon's best beaches are within reach at Saunton Sands, Woolacombe and Westward Ho!, along with Exmoor National Park for days out. There is cycling, fishing, horse riding, surfing and walking locally. The house takes special celebrations, anniversary and birthday parties, reunions, large family holidays and hen parties.
