Blackdown Cottage is a hundred-year-old former gardener's cottage set in thirty-five acres of private ancient woodland, lakes and parkland near Burwash in East Sussex. It sleeps four in two bedrooms, holds a five-star rating with a Gold award, and is all on one floor. The combination of modern comfort and genuine rural seclusion is what it is for.
The lounge has an open coal fire, cosy sofas, a flat-screen television, a DVD player and a supply of current books and DVDs. The kitchen is fully equipped with a double oven, hob, microwave, fridge and freezer, and a separate utility room holds the washing machine and tumble dryer. The main bedroom has a king-size bed and the second has two singles, with all the bed linen in pure Egyptian cotton and fluffy towels and bathrobes provided. Free wifi is included along with a welcome pack, and the cottage does not take pets.
Outside is a private garden with furniture, benches, a patio, sun loungers and a stream in the grounds, along with parking for three cars. The setting is dark-sky friendly with a stargazing area and a birdwatching area, and the woodland, lakes and parkland around are yours to walk. The cottage is decorated for Christmas and Easter.
