About Lavenders
Lavenders is a single-storey bungalow in the unspoilt village of Holme-next-the-Sea on the North Norfolk coast, about three hundred metres from an extensive sandy beach backed by dunes and backing onto the golf course itself. It sleeps six in three bedrooms, holds a Gold award and takes two well-behaved dogs by prior agreement with the owner. The village is two miles east of Hunstanton and is genuinely quiet.
The lounge diner is comprehensively furnished, with a colour television with Freeview, a DVD player and a selection of films, plus books, tourist literature, toys and games. The kitchen is well equipped with a fridge-freezer, microwave, full-sized cooker, washing machine and dishwasher, and the bathroom has an electric shower, a bath, a toilet and a hand basin. The three bedrooms are a double, a small room with full-length bunk beds, and a third with bunk beds and a single divan. A travel cot and travel high chair are provided, heating is by night storage heaters, and the group should not exceed six.
Outside, the property is secluded, surrounded by lawns and shrubs with all boundaries fenced. There is a picnic bench and a barbecue on the patio, further garden furniture in the sun lounge, and a small shed and dog run for guests travelling with a dog. Parking takes three cars adjacent to the property, and the site is dark-sky friendly.
Holme is totally unspoilt but has a traditional pub, dog-friendly and a fifteen-minute walk, and an internationally renowned bird observatory. Two long-distance walking routes meet here: the Roman Peddars Way, which starts in Thetford Forest, and the Norfolk Coast Path, which runs from Hunstanton to Cromer. The Hunstanton links golf course extends to Holme. Sea Life Hunstanton, Norfolk Lavender, RSPB Titchwell Marsh, Holkham Bay and Hall, Houghton Hall and Castle Rising are all within reach, with sailing, sea fishing, windsurfing, swimming and beachcombing along this coast, and Norwich is forty miles.
