About Higher Burrow Farm
Higher Burrow Farm is a large stone-built thatched farmhouse near Kingsbury Episcopi in Somerset, close to the Somerset Levels. It sleeps fifteen as standard and up to seventeen using a sofa bed and Z bed, across seven bedrooms with five bathrooms, holds a Gold award and takes two dogs by arrangement. Its distinguishing feature is that it has not one but two private outdoor hot tubs in the grounds.
The house was refurbished carefully and keeps its exposed beams and rural character alongside modern comfort. The lounge is sociable and spacious, with a long L-shaped sofa, an additional large sofa and a 55-inch television. The open-plan kitchen and diner is vast, light and airy, opening into a beamed dining area seating seventeen, which is what you need for a family gathering rather than a series of shifts. A snug with comfortable seating and its own smaller television gives you a quieter corner.
All seven bedrooms are presented well and each has a television: four king-size rooms, two twins, and one bedroom with three single beds. Country views are a feature of the house and a good thing to wake up to.
Outside there is a private enclosed garden and a patio with outdoor furniture seating seventeen and a gas barbecue, plus the two hot tubs and parking. A cot and high chair are available. A local cider farm is a short walk away and a gastro pub, the Lamb and Lion, is less than two miles off. The setting is properly rural, with walking from the door and golf nearby. Taunton is about sixteen miles away and has the nearest station, Glastonbury is around eighteen miles, the Blackdown Hills half an hour's drive, and Lyme Regis and the Dorset coast under an hour.
