About Rock Farm
Rock Farm sits on the side of the highest point of the Quantock Hills, a mile from the village of West Bagborough and about fifteen minutes' drive from Taunton. The views run for miles across Somerset's rolling hills, and they are at their best when the West Somerset steam train passes in the distance or the mist settles below the house and leaves a sea of cloud. It sleeps fourteen to sixteen across seven bedrooms, holds a Gold award and takes two dogs.
The house comes in two parts. The main farmhouse has a beamed, sociable lounge with comfortable sofas, a woodburner set in a charming inglenook fireplace and a television, a spacious farmhouse-style kitchen with an electric Aga, a dining room seating fourteen with country views and a second woodburner, four luxurious en-suite bedrooms, and a games room with a pool table, table football, darts and karaoke.
The Granary annexe adds three more bedrooms, each with its own distinctive style, and a spacious family bathroom. One of them has its own balcony from which you can see a fair slice of Somerset, which is the room people ask for. A cot and high chair are available, and there is wifi, Sky television, a dishwasher, washing machine and freezer.
Outside is a generous patio with an outdoor dining set and a gas barbecue, a private garden, and an eight-seater hot tub positioned for those country views. Taunton, about twenty minutes away, has the shops and the nearest station, and there is a day spa six minutes' drive and good local country clubs. The Rising Sun in the village is the local for a meal, and horse riding and golf are nearby. Exmoor and the Blackdown Hills are within reach, along with Cheddar Gorge and Burnham on Sea. The house suits a milestone birthday, an extended family gathering or a break with friends.
