About Smokeham Farm
Smokeham Farm sits high in the Quantock Hills near West Bagborough in Somerset, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the views run for miles across Somerset's rolling hills; on the right morning the mist settles below the house and leaves you above a sea of cloud. It sleeps twenty in nine bedrooms, every one of them en-suite, holds a Gold award and takes two dogs.
The lounge is roomy and light, with plenty of comfortable sofas, large windows, a vaulted beamed ceiling, a wood-burning stove and a 55-inch television, plus bifold doors and a Juliet balcony to make the most of the setting. The kitchen is huge and well equipped, opening into a dining area seating eighteen to twenty, which is the room that makes a gathering of this size actually work. A games room with a pool table takes care of the afternoons.
The nine bedrooms were each designed individually and all have luxury sprung mattresses; the master rooms have roll-top baths and rainfall showers, and one bedroom has a four-poster bed. Between them there are four king-size beds, a double, eight singles and two sofa beds, so the house can be configured for most party shapes. A cot and high chair are available, and there is wifi, Sky television, a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and freezer.
Outside is a generous patio for dining alfresco with the farmland views in front of you, a balcony, a garden and the private outdoor hot tub. Parking is in a private car park. The village of West Bagborough has the Rising Sun for a meal out, and the West Somerset steam railway runs in the distance. Exmoor National Park, the Quantock Hills, the Blackdown Hills and Burnham on Sea are all within reach, with walking and horse riding from the door, Taunton for the nearest station and Bristol around forty miles off.
