Ty Glas Beach House is an eleven bedroom coastal house at Cemaes Bay on the Isle of Anglesey, sleeping up to twenty two and rated five stars with a Gold award. It stands a short stroll from the beach and the village's pubs, cafes and shops, with harbour, beach and sea views from a great many of its windows. Very few houses of this size sit this close to the water, and the combination of scale, position and a spa room containing a hydropool swim spa makes it a strong choice for a family gathering or a group retreat. Dogs are welcome, though on the ground floor only.
The ground floor holds a lounge with ample comfortable sofas and panoramic sea views, a games room with a pool table, a well equipped kitchen and diner seating twenty two, a family bathroom, and the Henry Ashley Suite, a ground floor bedroom with zip and link beds and an accessible shower room fitted with a Mira walk in shower. The spa room contains the swim spa along with a spa bar with a drinks fridge, ice and glasses, and a shower room adjacent. Five bedrooms occupy the first floor: the Cemlyn Suite with zip and link beds and an en suite shower room; the Beaumaris Suite with a king bed, sea views and an en suite with double basins, a slipper bath and separate shower; the Penmon Suite with a king bed and bay views; the dual aspect Skerries Suite; and the Llanddwyn Suite with a king bed and sea views. The second floor has the Menai Suite with a large en suite containing a double ended period bath, the Porth Wen Suite with sea views, and the Parys Suite, a honeymoon room with a copper bath and separate shower. Two loft bedrooms on the third floor, South Stack and Dinas Gynfor, take in sea views through Velux windows and have their own bathrooms.
Underfloor heating, wifi, digital television, a dishwasher, microwave, freezer, coffee maker, wine chiller, washing machine and tumble dryer are all provided, along with towels, bed linen, a welcome pack, a cot, high chair and stairgate. There is a snug, a boot room, board and card games, a Playstation and an Xbox, boules and croquet. Outside, the enclosed garden has a veranda, patio, barbecue and sun loungers. Level access runs through the ground floor with grab rails, a shower seat, a walk in shower and a wet room, and secure free parking takes six cars on a private driveway with an electric car charging point. Dog beds, an outdoor dog washing station, dog friendly walks and a dog friendly pub within fifteen minutes make this genuinely practical for dog owners, and the house is decorated for Christmas.
Cemaes Bay itself is unspoilt and quietly lovely, whitewashed houses above a sheltered bay, with lazy beach days, coastal walks, kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing all on the doorstep and a pub a short walk away. The Anglesey coast path runs past, and Church Bay, Parys Mountain, the Copper Kingdom Centre, Moelfre Lifeboat Station, the Anglesey Sea Zoo, Pili Palas, Plas Newydd and the Holyhead Maritime Museum are all within range. Across the Menai Strait lie Snowdonia, Caernarfon Castle, Mount Snowdon, Llanberis Lake Railway, Portmeirion and the Welsh Mountain Zoo. Coasteering, climbing, abseiling, caving, sailing, sea fishing, cycling, horse riding, golf and bird watching fill out the list. Holyhead, nineteen miles off, has the station and ferries, and short breaks are available in low and mid season.
Additional charges: No additional cleaning fees.
