Seven Ocean Reach is a two bedroom coastal holiday home on the South Devon coast, set within the South Devon National Landscape and looking out over open water towards the horizon. The sea views are the first thing you notice and the thing you will remember: they fill the windows of the main bedroom and the living space, and they change hour by hour as the light moves across the water. The yachting town of Salcombe lies roughly four miles away, about a ten minute drive, or an hour and a half on foot along the South West Coast Path, which can be picked up directly from the front door. Kingsbridge, the nearest market town, is six miles inland. The house has been awarded a Gold award and sleeps up to five people.
Accommodation is arranged over two bedrooms with two bathrooms between them. There is a king size bed in one room, with a balcony and the best of the sea views, and two single beds in the second. Underfloor heating runs through the house, and the open plan living, dining and kitchen area seats five at the table. The kitchen is fully fitted with a dishwasher, microwave, freezer and coffee maker, and there is a washing machine and tumble dryer for longer stays and sandy beach days. Wifi and digital television are provided throughout. Towels, bed linen and a welcome pack are all included, so there is little to bring beyond walking boots and swimming things.
Outside, a patio catches the early sun and an enclosed west facing garden holds it into the evening, which makes the outdoor space usable across most of the day. The garden is securely fenced, a real advantage for anyone travelling with dogs or small children. Up to four dogs are welcome here, and the property is genuinely set up for them, with dog friendly walks and a dog friendly pub both within a fifteen minute walk and an outdoor dog washing station for muddy paws and salty coats. Cats are welcome too. Ample private parking is provided on a secure private driveway adjacent to the house, free of charge. For families there is a cot, high chair and stairgate available.
The surrounding coast is the main reason to come. Salcombe has sandy coves, boat trips and watersports, and its pubs and restaurants welcome both dogs and children. Further along the coast are Salcombe Sands, Hope Cove, Blackpool Sands, Slapton Sands and Bigbury-on-Sea, with the coast path linking many of them. Inland lie Dartmoor National Park, Dartmouth Castle, Buckfast Abbey and family attractions including Pennywell Farm, Paignton Zoo and Woodlands Family Theme Park. Sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, sea fishing, surfing and coasteering are all available locally, along with golf, tennis, squash, horse riding and rockpooling. Short breaks are offered in low and mid season, and Totnes is the nearest useful rail connection.
Additional charges: No additional cleaning fees.
