Stanway House is a detached honey-coloured stone barn conversion on the Flagstone Farm development, two miles from Stow-on-the-Wold and surrounded by twelve acres of woodland and pasture. It sleeps sixteen, or up to eighteen by arrangement, in eight bedrooms with six bathrooms, and holds a Gold award. Six of the bedrooms are en-suite, which is what makes a house this size comfortable rather than crowded.
Inside there is a spacious living room with exposed wooden beams, a dining area seating twenty, a well-equipped kitchen and a second kitchen, which is a considerable help when you are catering for sixteen. The eight bedrooms comprise two doubles with en-suite shower rooms, a king-size with an en-suite shower room, two twins sharing a bathroom, a further twin, another double with a shower room and a twin with its own en-suite shower room. An access ramp and level provision make parts of the house workable for less able guests. Wifi runs throughout, and there is a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave and freezer.
The house is supplied with bed linen, two sets of towels and tea towels, plus a starter pack of tea, coffee, washing powder, washing-up liquid and dishwasher tablets. A cot, high chair, stairgate and welcome pack are available.
Outside there is an enclosed shared garden with a sitting-out area and a barbecue, private parking, a tennis court and a games room with a snooker table, table tennis and table football. All the cottages have easy walking access. Stow-on-the-Wold, two miles away, is a historic Cotswold market town with plenty of character and places to eat and drink, and a pub sits within five miles. The Plough at Ford, the Halfway House at Kineton, the Fox at Oddington and the Old Butchers in Stow are all recommended locally. In driving times the farm is around eighty minutes from London, thirty from Oxford, thirty from Stratford-upon-Avon and forty-five from Birmingham, with Moreton-in-Marsh the nearest station and Cheltenham eighteen miles. Blenheim Palace, the Cotswold Falconry Centre, the Motoring Museum and the Cotswold Wildlife Park are all nearby. The house takes birthday celebrations, weddings and corporate stays.
