About Large Herefordshire Holiday House
Sharpnage House is a five-bedroom, five-bathroom holiday house at Checkley in rural Herefordshire, about fifteen minutes' drive from Hereford and just inside the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It sleeps ten, stands in its own grounds surrounded by unspoilt rolling farmland, and takes in long countryside and valley views from the garden.
One bedroom is on the ground floor, with a comfortable king-size bed and an en-suite wet room, which works well for a couple who find stairs difficult. Upstairs there are three bedrooms with super-king beds and one with two zip-and-link singles that can be made up as a super-king on request. The house is finished to a high standard throughout, with Hypnos beds, The White Company linen and towels, underfloor heating, free wifi, a Sonos system running through the whole house, Sky television in two rooms and hair dryers in every bedroom.
The kitchen is beautifully fitted and comes with a fridge, freezer, chiller, wine chiller, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and a Nespresso machine. The living and dining area is roomy enough for ten to spend a proper evening together, seating twelve at the table. A games room with a pool table, table tennis and table football sits in a separate building between the two gardens and is shared with the owners' neighbouring house, though each property has its own access to it from its own private garden. Outside there is a patio, a barbecue, sun loungers, a badminton net and secure private parking.
Pets are welcome by arrangement, up to two dogs, and there is a dog-friendly pub within a fifteen-minute walk. Level access runs through the ground floor, with a ramp to the property, grab rails by the shower and toilet and a shower seat. Hereford is seven miles off and has the nearest station. Eastnor Castle, the Wye Valley and the Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo are all close by, and there is canoeing, cycling, golf, rowing, hiking and stargazing in the area. Catering and hot tub hire can be arranged locally if you book early.
