Meadow View is a newly built holiday house on the fifty acre Pudleston Court estate in Herefordshire, sleeping six in three bedrooms with four bathrooms and, next door to the house, its own private indoor heated swimming pool. It is rated five stars with a Gold award. The estate setting is quiet and rural, with parkland, lakes and woodland paths, and the house itself has been designed from scratch around guest comfort rather than adapted from something else. Up to three dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, with dog friendly walks starting within fifteen minutes.
The open plan kitchen, dining and living area is the centre of the house, laid with rustic farmhouse flags and furnished with a large leather sofa, tweed armchairs and oak furniture, along with a smart television. The bespoke kitchen has an integrated Smeg combination microwave oven and a Smeg single oven, plus an integrated dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine, and the dining table seats six. All three bedrooms are doubles with en suite facilities, and there is a further bathroom with a shower on the ground floor. Underfloor heating runs throughout, there is air conditioning for hot spells, and wifi, digital television, towels, bed linen and a welcome pack are all provided. A cot, high chair and stairgate are available.
The pool is the feature that distinguishes this house. It sits in its own building a few steps away, for the exclusive use of guests, heated to between twenty six and twenty eight degrees, with a dedicated changing room and WC. Pool towels and adult dressing gowns are provided, so swimming things are all you need to bring. Outdoors there is a large secure garden, safe for children and dogs, with seating for six, a gas barbecue and loungers on the decking, plus a chiminea for cooler evenings. Free off road parking for three cars sits adjacent to the house, with an electric car charging point, and the house is decorated with a tree and decorations at Christmas. Short breaks run all year round, and stag, hen and birthday groups are accepted.
The estate grounds are open to guests: scenic trails, lakeside walks, a children's playground and small farm animals to meet. Beyond the gates, Leominster is about five miles or ten minutes' drive, with shops, eateries and pubs, and Leominster station is five miles off. A dog friendly pub lies within five miles, with country pubs, restaurants and cafes within ten. Herefordshire's black and white villages are a classic day out, along with Berrington Hall, Hampton Court Castle, Stockton Bury Gardens, Ralph Court Gardens, Queenswood Country Park and Arboretum, Newbridge Farm Park and Small Breeds Farm Park; Ludlow, with its castle and celebrated food scene, and Stokesay Castle and the Shropshire Hills lie north. The Malvern Hills, within about thirty minutes, offer some of the best walking in the county, and falconry, golf, horse riding, hiking and forest bathing are all available locally. Ludlow's food festival, the Three Counties Show and Ledbury Poetry Festival fill out the calendar.
