About Trevase Granary, 5 Star Gold Award Winning Accommodation
Trevase Granary is a barn conversion five miles north of Ross-on-Wye, looking out towards the Black Mountains. It holds a five-star rating with a Gold award and sleeps sixteen in eight en-suite bedrooms, all of which are reachable by a less able guest. The scale of the place is what sets it apart: the dining room runs to thirty feet, with an oak table seating up to twenty beneath exposed oak timbers and wrought-iron chandeliers.
Beyond the dining room there is a large lounge with leather sofas big enough to seat the whole party at once, a separate television lounge with Freeview, DVDs and a games console, and a handmade kitchen fitted out for cooking for a crowd. The games room has table tennis and a pool table. Outside, a covered jacuzzi and a walled garden take in the view across the countryside towards the mountains.
A second conversion, Penblaith Barn, stands four miles north of Monmouth and can be booked alongside the Granary or on its own. It sleeps up to eighteen in eight en-suite bedrooms, one of them on the ground floor and suitable for a less able guest, and it has kept a good deal of character in its sweeping oak staircase and oak floors. There is another thirty-foot dining room seating twenty, two lounges, a games room, an outdoor hot tub, a barbecue and large gardens with far-reaching views. Between them the two barns suit large families or groups who want space without being on top of one another.
The setting is quiet and rural, with wood-burning stoves indoors, wifi throughout, parking, and a ramp and grab rails for guests who need them. Hereford is twelve miles away and has the nearest station. Hereford Cathedral, Goodrich Castle, Hampton Court Castle and the Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo are all close, and canoeing, golf, horse riding and walking are on the doorstep.
