About The Stables Holiday Cottage

The Stables Cottage has been transformed into a luxury two-bedroom holiday cottage, both bedrooms en-suite, just outside the village of Snainton between Pickering and Scarborough at the foot of the North York Moors. It sleeps five plus a travel cot and holds a five-star rating with a Gold award.

The ground floor is open plan, with a contemporary kitchen and a cosy lounge area with a comfy sofa and chairs around a wood-burning stove, a smart flat-screen television and free wifi. A door leads out onto a York stone patio with rattan garden furniture and a view to the moors.

The bedrooms have been done with gorgeous textiles. The main is a king-size with a free-standing roll-top bath in the bedroom itself, plus an en-suite shower room. The second is oak-beamed and can be twin beds or zip-linked into a super-king double, with its own en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath, and it can take a pull-out bed if needed. Oil-fired central heating is included with no extra charge for electricity or fuel, an initial supply of logs and coal is provided for the stove, and Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels are supplied along with a welcome pack. A travel cot and high chair are available on request.

Outside there is a barbecue, the use of a large grassy garden, sun loungers, a children's playground area with football goalposts, and a gravel drive with parking for two cars. The site is dark-sky friendly and a fireworks-free location, with a birdwatching area, and the cottage is decorated for Christmas. A dog-friendly pub is within a thirty-minute walk.

The position makes an excellent touring base. The beaches at Scarborough, Filey and Whitby are all within easy reach, along with Sandsend, and the market towns of Malton, Pickering and Helmsley, the historic city of York and Heartbeat country are all a short drive. Dalby Forest, Castle Howard, Rievaulx Abbey, Eden Camp, Helmsley Castle and the North York Moors National Park are all nearby, with a long list of family attractions around York and Bridlington beyond.
