About Wren Cottage at Low Moor Holiday Cottages

Wren Cottage is a stone barn conversion in open countryside a few miles inland from Scarborough, within the North York Moors and its surrounding national park landscape in North Yorkshire. It forms one of six self-contained units on a small, privately run site, arranged so that each has its own garden and parking. The cottage has two bedrooms and sleeps two to four guests, with a double and two single beds, and it holds a Visit England assessment. Children are welcome and a cot and high chair are available, though dogs cannot be accommodated. The sandy beaches of the Yorkshire coast lie around five miles away.

The ground floor has a sitting room with comfortable seating and a digital TV, together with a modern kitchen and dining area where the table seats four. Kitchen equipment includes a gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine, kettle and toaster. On the first floor there is a double room with beams on show and a wash basin, a twin room also with a wash basin, and a bathroom fitted with a bath, WC and basin. Central heating and underfloor heating are installed, wifi is provided and bed linen is included; a smoke alarm is fitted. Outside, the enclosed lawned garden faces the sun and has a patio with garden furniture, looking out over fields, farmland and the hills beyond. There is free private off-road parking for two cars, and a secure store for bicycles.

The cottage suits couples and families wanting a quiet rural base with the coast close at hand. Walking, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, nature walks and stargazing are all possible nearby, with sea fishing, surfing, paddle boarding, sailing and rockpooling on the coast, and golf, tennis and yoga locally. Dalby Forest and the Cleveland Way are within reach, as are Scarborough Castle, Sea Life Scarborough, Peasholm Park, Filey Beach, Whitby Abbey and Castle Howard. York, about 45 miles away, offers the Minster, the city walls, the Jorvik Viking Centre and the National Railway Museum. A pub stands in a nearby village within a 30-minute walk, with further restaurants, cafs, shops and a supermarket within a mile. Scarborough is the nearest railway station. Stays begin on any day, with a minimum of two nights, and the cottage is decorated at Christmas.
