Penty Parc is a spacious Grade II listed Regency country house in peaceful Pembrokeshire countryside, six miles from Haverfordwest, sleeping up to seventeen across nine bedrooms with a Gold award. It is around twenty minutes from Narberth and thirty from the coast, secluded, with garden, woodland and rural views, and it is set up for the sort of holiday where a large family or group of friends takes over a house for a week. Period charm is combined with generous living space and high end interiors, and up to two dogs are welcome.
Inside there is a comfortable lounge with a wood burning stove, an elegant dining room seating seventeen for meals together, and a snug, a second sitting room and a bar area, which between them mean a large party can spread out rather than all sitting in one room. The kitchen is well equipped and built around an Aga, with an additional preparation kitchen that makes catering for these numbers considerably easier, plus a dishwasher, microwave, freezer, kettle, toaster and a wine chiller. There is a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. The nine bedrooms are spread across two upper floors with four bathrooms, in a mix of super king, king, double and twin rooms giving flexible arrangements; two attic bedrooms, one king and one with a double and a single, are available by special request at additional cost. An open fire, wifi, digital television, towels, bed linen, a cot, high chair, board games, boules and books are all provided.
Outside, the attractive private gardens give plenty of space to relax, with garden furniture, an outdoor bench, sun loungers, a patio, a barbecue and a barbecue lodge for cooking outside whatever the weather does. The location is dark sky friendly. Free private parking takes up to ten cars adjacent to the house, which matters when a group of seventeen arrives in five vehicles. The house is decorated with a tree and decorations at Christmas, short breaks are offered midweek and at weekends in low and mid season, and hen parties, birthday celebrations and corporate groups are all accepted.
A dog friendly pub lies within a mile, with country pubs serving food nearby and more eating out, a shop and a supermarket within ten miles; Haverfordwest, six miles off, has the station. The Preseli Hills are close for walking and cycling, and the beaches and coastal scenery of Pembrokeshire are within easy reach: Newgale, Marloes Sands, Whitesands Bay, Barafundle Bay, Saundersfoot and Solva Harbour among them, with the Pembrokeshire Coast Path linking the lot. St Davids Cathedral, Pembroke Castle, Manorbier Castle, Carew Castle and Tidal Mill, Stackpole Walled Gardens, St Govan's Chapel, Colby Woodland Garden, Solva Woollen Mill, Scolton Manor and boat trips to Skomer, Ramsey and Caldey islands all make good days out, with Folly Farm and the Blue Lagoon Water Park for children. Coasteering, kayaking, canoeing, surfing, swimming, rockpooling, horse riding, pony trekking, golf, fishing, croquet and boules are all available locally.
