The Manor House stands in five acres of formal gardens just outside the market town of Ludlow in Shropshire. It sleeps thirteen in six bedrooms, holds a Gold award and takes one dog. What sets it apart is the grounds: a private six-hole golf course, a grass tennis lawn in summer, croquet and a substantial children's play area.
Inside, the accommodation is spacious and beautifully presented with high-end interiors and period decor. There are two lounges, one for watching television and one for reading or catching up, along with a large kitchen, a utility, a boot room, a snug and a roomy dining room built for a celebration, seating twelve. A games room holds a pool table, snooker, air hockey, table tennis, table football, a multi-games table and a choice of board games. A wood-burning stove, wifi and digital television run through, and a cot, high chair, welcome pack, towels and bed linen are provided. Some bedrooms are en-suite, and although the house is ideal for socialising there is plenty of room to find a quiet spot.
Outside, the five acres hold the golf course, the tennis lawn, croquet, and a children's play area with swings, a slide, a trampoline, a rope swing, a zip wire, a tree house and a Wendy house, plus football goalposts. There is a secure private garden with furniture, a patio, a barbecue, a stream in the grounds and secure parking for six cars. The house is decorated with a tree at Christmas.
A dog-friendly pub is within a fifteen-minute walk in the nearby village. Ludlow, three miles away with its own station, is famous for its fine dining, its Norman castle overlooking the River Teme and its historic buildings, along with the annual arts and food and drink festivals. The Shropshire Hills are around twenty minutes' drive, with Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd, Stokesay Castle, Clun Castle, Mortimer Forest and the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre all nearby, plus Croft Castle, Berrington Hall, Hampton Court Castle, the Brockhampton Estate, Hereford Cathedral, the Malvern Hills, Offa's Dyke Path and Ironbridge Gorge within reach. The owners take family celebrations, hen and stag parties, birthdays, anniversaries, reunions and weddings.
