About Luxury Sleeps 6 Grooms Cottage
One Grooms Cottage sits in the historic heart of Dunster in Somerset, sleeping six in three bedrooms with two bathrooms. It holds a five-star rating with a Gold award and welcomes dogs for a supplement. Like its neighbour it has an upside-down layout, with the living rooms on the first floor and the bedrooms below, and the finish is a notch above.
Upstairs is a sitting room with a 55-inch smart television and a Bose soundbar carrying Sky and Netflix, with double doors through to a large dining room and a solid oak table seating eight comfortably. A few steps down lead to a stylish, very well equipped kitchen with an electric oven, induction hob, Nespresso machine, a Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser, dishwasher and microwave.
The ground floor holds a king-size bedroom, a second king-size with an en-suite shower room, and a twin, along with a family bathroom with a free-standing bath and shower over, a bathroom television and a mirror. A ground-floor utility cupboard has an iron, ironing board and space for suitcases, with a washing machine and dryer in the back courtyard. A high chair is available.
Wifi, central heating and electricity are included in the cost, and bed linen and towels are provided; bring your own beach towels for day trips. Outside is a patio garden with furniture for eating alfresco and an area looking out to the Exmoor hills, with parking for two cars.
Dunster is full of medieval charm, with the magnificent Dunster Castle, the Yarn Market, the Tithe Barn, the Butter Cross and the fifteenth-century church, plus restaurants, pubs, tea rooms and a good spread of independent shops and galleries. Minehead, about ten minutes' drive and three miles off, has a long sandy beach, the steam railway, supermarkets and banks. Exmoor National Park starts at the edge of the village, with walking, cycling and wildlife watching in every direction.
