Mallard is a single-storey barn conversion on the Norfolk and Suffolk border, part of a group of eight self-contained holiday properties created from former farm buildings on a family farm that keeps dairy cattle and grows arable crops. The setting is rural and secluded, close to a village and the southern edge of the Broads National Park, with views across fields and farmland. The barn retains original features, including exposed beams, and holds a VisitBritain gold award. It has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, sleeping between three and seven guests, with children welcome and one dog accepted by arrangement.
The living space is open plan, bringing together a sitting area with digital TV, a kitchen and a dining table seating eight. The kitchen is fitted with an electric double oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine, coffee maker, kettle and toaster. One bedroom has its own en-suite shower room and a king-size bed; another contains three single beds. There is central heating throughout, a power shower, wifi, and bed linen, towels and a welcome pack are provided, along with a cot and high chair. Outside, the barn has a patio with a barbecue and access to an enclosed garden and the wider farm grounds, where swings and football goalposts are set out. Shared facilities on site include a hot tub, a gym and a games room equipped for table tennis, air hockey, table football and pool. There is ample private parking, an electric car charging point and free use of bicycles.
The property suits families, groups of friends and gatherings such as birthday or anniversary celebrations, as well as those looking for a quiet base for walking, cycling, coarse fishing, boating, stargazing and birdwatching. A dog-friendly pub is within a short walk, and Beccles, the nearest market town and railway station, lies about five miles away with further pubs, restaurants and cafes. The Broads and the Suffolk coast are both within reach, with beaches at Southwold, Walberswick, Aldeburgh and Gorleston-on-Sea, and attractions including RSPB Minsmere, Framlingham Castle, Snape Maltings, Africa Alive, Pleasurewood Hills and the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum. Norwich, with its cathedral, is a feasible day out, as are Blickling Hall and Wroxham Barns. Minimum stay is three nights.
Bed linen is provided for every bed.
Additional charges: No additional cleaning fees.
