Pheasant is a one-bedroom barn conversion on the Wheatacre Hall Barns site, a working farm on the Norfolk and Suffolk border close to the River Waveney and the southern reaches of the Broads National Park. Arranged on a single storey and holding a Visit Britain gold award, it sleeps two, with a cot available for a baby, and looks out over surrounding fields and farmland. One dog is welcome. Beccles, the nearest market town and the closest railway station, is around five miles away, and the barn is one of eight self-contained units on the site.
The interior is open plan, with a sitting area with sofas and digital TV, a dining table for four, and a kitchen fitted with an electric double oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine, coffee maker, kettle and toaster. The bedroom has a super king-size bed that can be separated into twins on request, and the en-suite bathroom has a spa bath with a television above it as well as a separate power shower. Exposed beams, underfloor heating and central heating run through the barn, and wifi is provided, along with bed linen, towels and a welcome pack. Outside there is a private enclosed lawn, a patio with table, chairs and a barbecue, ample off-road parking and an electric car charging point. Shared facilities on the site include an indoor hot tub, a fitness barn, and a games room with pool, table tennis, table football and air hockey, plus a children's play area with swings and football goalposts, free bicycle hire, fishing on the farm and a stargazing and bird watching area.
The barn suits couples wanting a quiet rural base, and the site as a whole takes hen, birthday and anniversary groups across its units. A dog-friendly pub and dog-friendly walks lie within a fifteen-minute walk, and footpaths follow the river near Beccles, where there are shops, cafes and restaurants. Boating, canoeing, paddle boarding, angling, cycling, golf and horse riding are all available locally. Lowestoft and its sandy beach are about thirteen miles away, with Southwold Pier, Snape Maltings, RSPB Minsmere, Framlingham Castle, Africa Alive, Pleasurewood Hills and Norwich Cathedral among the wider options for days out. Minimum stay three nights.
Bed linen is provided for every bed.
Additional charges: No additional cleaning fees.
