About Stable Cottage
Stable Cottage was once a stable, granary and pig sty, and now sits in a peaceful rural setting in the Warwickshire countryside seven miles from Stratford-upon-Avon, on the edge of the Cotswolds and the Vale of Evesham. It sleeps four plus a cot in two bedrooms, holds a Gold award and does not take pets. The best thing about it is the pool: guests have private use of a luxurious eight by four metre indoor swimming pool, about 1.3 metres deep, shared only with the owners, with a changing area and toilet facilities; bring your own swimming towels.
Inside there is a cosy lounge with an electric log-burner-effect fire, a well-equipped kitchen and two comfortable bedrooms, a double and a bunk room. There is also a games room within the cottage, holding a full-size table tennis table with bats and balls provided along with plenty of books, puzzles, toys, jigsaws and board games. Night storage heaters keep the place warm in cooler months, and wifi, digital television, a welcome pack, towels and bed linen are provided along with a cot, high chair and stairgate.
Outside is a small fenced garden with patio furniture and a barbecue, and parking for two cars. The site is dark-sky friendly.
There are many local footpaths from the doorstep or a short drive away, and an ordnance survey map is left in the cottage. Cyclists are welcome, and a flat cycleway two miles away runs into Stratford-upon-Avon. A pub is within five miles, with good country pubs and restaurants across the area. The cottage is well placed for the Cotswolds, with Broadway and Chipping Campden only a few miles off, and Honeybourne has the nearest station. Stratford-upon-Avon with the Shakespeare properties, Warwick Castle, Kenilworth Castle, Worcester, Stratford races and Cheltenham are all within reach, along with National Trust properties including Hidcote Manor Gardens, Charlecote Park and Coughton Court, and Ragley Hall, the Stratford Butterfly Farm and the MAD Museum for families.
